Welding – an important part of the manufacturing sector is a core job which people feel is difficult to practice. But what I recommend is that welding is one of the many jobs that can give you job security – the need of the hour. Welding is not like drawing or painting (inborn talents that are possessed and developed in humans). But this hard and innovative job need training, precaution and also good thinking power of what to do when something unwanted happens. Welding is the process by which two metallic pieces are joined together using flux material at a very high temperature. This is the definition that my madam taught me in my first semester lab in my engineering course. The welding process is as follows – The electric current is used to strike an arc between the base material and consumable electrode rod made of steel, which joins the 2 metal pieces. We have a new type of welding developed called as the seam welding in which pressure and current are used to join metal sheets. Flash butt welding machine used for flash welding works on the principle of applying pressure on a welding sheet were current is flowing simultaneously.
